Wiz Kudowor:
Wiz is one of the best
artists in Ghana. His work has been greeted
with praise and admiration all around the
world. He is not just any other artist.
He is a teacher who has touched the lives
of many a student. I happen to be one of
those students. As an eight year old, I
learnt about primary colors from Wiz Kudowor.
His classes were interesting and thought
provoking. This trend can be seen in his
art to this present day. His choice of colors
and style of painting creates art work that
can only be described as mind blowing. In
his class I learnt the discipline of art
and the felt first hand how powerful art
can really be. Through hardwork and an endless
fountain of talent, he has risen to become
one of the greatest artists in West Africa.
his exhibitions attract a wide variety of
people, which is understandable. Afterall,
Wiz draws his inspiration from everyday
events and people tha he happens upon.
Wiz has designed and executed
public works in Ghana including a relief
mural at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park
"Wiz is thought of
by some as a trans-cultural visionary. His
work simultaneously draws on and pushes
beyond fixed spaces and identities in a
dynamic search for unbounded universal truths.
His recent work typically draws on the deeper
meaning of African symbolism and composes
from them enigmatic messages with intriguing
titles. He has also been producing multilayered
sensual works recently"

Edward Kamugisha
A teacher by profession,
Edward is a self taught artist with boundless
talent. His work ranges from still life
to wildlife and everything in between. I
was amazed by his unique painting style
which is heavily based on vertical lines
and stark color contrasts. This style was
developed by Edward, and he calls it Symbolism.
Several of his paintings such as The Birth
were painted with this technique. Edward
also uses a technique in his art that ultimately
borrows their final color from background
hues. The end result is a rich painting
with a wide array of coloring schemes and
geometric shapes. Edward is based in Uganda,
but frequently visits the United States
and other countries to showcase his work,
several of which have won praise and admiration
from enthusiastic buyers.
